Manchester United has identified five players they want to sign this summer to bolster their squad. After an underwhelming season, changes are anticipated at Old Trafford.
United poorly ended the season and finished at sixth position in the Premier League. Jose Mourinho was sacked in December and team hasn’t made much progress under Ole either.
Now, Manchester United’s chief executive Ed Woodward has assured financial backing for Ole Gunnar Solksjaer this summer.
“It’s been a turbulent season,” Woodward told the Times. “It clearly didn’t end the way we hoped, and with a disruptive managerial change part way through.”
1. Aaron Wan-Bissaka
He has been looked up as a priority signing in the defence. Ashley Young has struggled this season in his right-back position. On the other hand, Wan-Bissaka has been one of the best right-back in the Premier League.
He has played 3135 minutes in Premier League this season and has an average rating of 7.27. Wan-Bissaka averaged 3.7 tackles, 2.4 interceptions and 3.7 clearances in the 35 appearance he made in the Premier League. He also had three assists.
2. Daniel James
Swansea’s 21-year-old Welsh winger has been widely dubbed as “next Ryan Giggs”. According to various reports Manchester United has agreed a £15m fee with Swansea for James.
He has made 33 apearances in the Championship. James managed 4 goals and 7 assists in the 2507 minutes he has played. He averages 1.3 dribbles and 1.2 key passes per game.
3. Kalidou Koulibaly
Manchester United wants to sign a big name center-back this summer. Koulibaly is the name top on their wishlist. However, no Champions League might be an issue in signing him. Harry Maguire is the player that United will target if they miss out on Koulibaly.
He has an average rating of 7 in 54 appearance he made in 2018-19. Koulibaly averages 1.8 tackles, 1.2 interceptions and 3.8 clearances per game. He has also chipped in with two goals and two assists.
It seems pretty unlikely that Saul will leave Atletico Madrid for Manchester United. Although reports suggest United has made contact to Atletico for Saul.
He averages 7.14 in 51 apearances he made in 2018-19 season. He has also scored 8 goals and has 1 assist in 3842 minutes he played. Saul has a pass success rate of 80%, averages 2.2 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 1.9 clearances per game.
5. Paulo Dybala
Juventus’s unsettled Argentine star Paulo Dybala has been linked with a move away. United is believed to be ready to splash money to bring him to Old Trafford.
Dybala has 12 goals and 4 assists in 42 appearances he made in 2018-19. He has a pass success rate of 90%, quite good considering his playing position. He averages 1.5 key passes and 1.4 dribbles per game. Dybala also averages 3.1 long pass per game.
Manchester United also expects some players to leave this summer. Juan Mata, Antonio Valencia, Ander Herrera, Alexis Sanchez and Matteo Darmian are all expected to leave this summer.
