Real Madrid’s Welsh winger Gareth Bale has reportedly been offered to his previous club Tottenham Hotspur. Zidane has dropped Bale from his matchday squad in the last two games. It is unlikely Bale will be at Madrid next season.
What’s the story?
According to reports, Gareth Bale has been offered to UEFA Champions League finalists Tottenham Hotspur. Tottenham is where Bale made a name for himself.
It’s been reported Tottenham has been offered Gareth Bale for a year-long loan. The reported fee for the loan is £10million, Spurs will also pay half of Bale’s wages. Welshman currently earns around £600,000 a week. Real Madrid is so desperate to offload Bale that they are ready to pay half of his wages.
Paris Saint-German and Lyon are also interested in the Welshman. Lyon although will find it hard to pay his mammoth wages.
Heart of the Matter
Gareth Bale’s was expected to fill the void of Cristiano Ronaldo this season. He has horribly failed to do so. After starting the season well Welshman has failed to continue his early-season form.
Now, Zidane is believed to be ready to sell Bale this summer. Zidane was also believed to be in favour of Bale’s sale last summer instead of Ronaldo’s before Zidane left himself.
In a Real Madrid fan poll, almost 90% of fans voted for Bale to be sold this summer. He has completely lost the backing of Los Blancos’s fans and his manager.
Jonathan Barnett, Bale’s agent still says that his client wants to stay and see his contract out. Although it looks highly unlikely that Real Madrid hierarchy wants the same.
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham will take Bale back. Although Bale is extremely likely to leave this summer if not for Tottenham than for some other club.
