Frankfurt will be hosting Chelsea in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League tie.
Frankfurt drew their last game at home to Hertha Berlin by 0-0 in Bundesliga. The Eagles are having a great season and lie fourth in the Bundesliga table.
Chelsea also drew their last game against Manchester United by 1-1 in the Premier League. The Blues are fourth in the Premier League table and are fighting for a top-four finish.
Eintracht Frankfurt – LLWDD
Frankfurt has lost only twice in twenty matches in 2019. Both of those defeats have come in the last five games. Frankfurt has scored at least two goals in 20 of their last 23 games in the Europa League.
Chelsea – WLWDD
Chelsea has put in some inconsistent performances of late. But they do have an unbeaten away record in the Europa League this season. Blues have also won their last six games in Europa League.
Timothy Chandler, Taleb Tawatha, Marc Stendera, Marco Russ and Sebastian Haller are all out injured for Frankfurt. Ante Rebic will be a big miss for the home side as he has been suspended for the home tie.
Antonio Rudiger picked up an injury against Manchester United and is likely to miss the Frankfurt game. Hudson-Odoi will also miss the game due to his injury. Willian is doubtful but might make it to the bench.
Trapp; Ndicka, Hinteregger, Hasebe; Costa, Rode, Fernandes, Kostic; Gacinovic; Paciencia, Jovic.
Kepa; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Luiz, Alonso; Kante, Jorginho, Loftus-Cheek; Pedro, Giroud, Hazard.
Frankfurt vs Chelsea might look like an easy fixture for Chelsea on paper but it is not. Although Rebic’s absence will be a boost for Sarri’s defence.
But it’s hard to see Chelsea getting an away win at Frankfurt. We expect game to end as a draw in Frankfurt.
