Mohammad Amir has missed out of Pakistan Cricket squad for ICC Cricket World Cup. He is the only high profile absentee from the squad. The left arm pacer will, however, travel to England along with the Pakistan squad. As he has been named in reserves for England T20 and ODI series that precedes World Cup.

The team will be lead Sarfaraz Ahmed and Mohammed Hafeez has been picked despite his injury. The allrounder spots have been grabbed by Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, and Faheem Ashraf.

“This is more or less the side we have been playing since the ICC Champions Trophy 2017,” Inzamam said. “I have absolute trust that this side has grown further in experience and stature since 2017. Supported by the flare, skill, talent and killing-instinct, this side has the capability and potential to rise to the occasion and produce strong performances.”

He did not rule out the possibility of the two reserve players making the final cut. “That’s something which is granted to every team, not only us. I hope that none of our players get unfit, but if some untoward incident happen, we can always go to our bench strength”.

What’s Next?

Pakistan will arrive in England on 23 April for their series against England. They will play five ODI’s and a T20I before the World Cup.
