Eibar vs Atletico Madrid: Match Preview

Posted by

Atletico Madrid will travel to Eibar for their La Liga fixture on Saturday. Diego Simeone’s side won their last league game against Celta Vigo 2-0 last time out.

Atletico Madrid has been knocked out of all other competitions. They sit on the second position in the La Liga with four points lead on the third-placed Real Madrid.

While Eibar is sitting on the thirteenth position with 40 points so far in the league.

Form

Eibar – DDWLD

Eibar has been playing poorly in recent games. Despite having 40 points so far Eibar has been poor recently. But that inconsistent form is due to their poor away record. They have been much better at home than away.

Atletico Madrid – LWWLW

Atletico Madrid has lost two games in their past five appearances. Those two games ended their hopes of winning two competitions. Defeat against Juventus knocked them out of Champions League while defeat to Barcelona ended their hopes of winning the La Liga. Other than these two defeats Atletico has been pretty solid, especially defensively.

Injury/Suspension

Eibar

Anaitz Arbilla, Iván Ramis, Pape Diop and Rubén Peña are all inured and will miss the home game against Atletico Madrid. Pedro Bigas is doubtful for the game and his availability will depend on the late fitness test.

Atletico Madrid

Lucas Hernandez is the only injured player for Atletico Madrid. Although they will also be missing Diego Costa and Antonie Griezmann due to suspensions. Diego Godin and Stefan Savic are doubtful for the Madrid side.

Probable Lineups

Possible Outcome

Eibar does have a good home record but Atletico Madrid will be a tough game for the home side. Atletico Madrid will be missing many of their stars like Godin and Griezmann.

We predict a win for Atletico Madrid and maybe time for Morata to be a leader for Simeone’s side in the absence of Costa and Griezmann.
