Liverpool won a pivotal fixture in the Premier League battle against Chelsea over the weekend. While Porto won their own game in the weekend.
FC Porto – WDWLW
FC Porto has been in great form in recent weeks. Even in the game against Liverpool they were not completely outplayed by their opponents. They did create some chances at Anfield and even could have scored. What they lacked at Anfield was a good finish. They were aggressive against their English opponents, just how you should play against Liverpool.
Liverpool – WWWWW
Liverpool are on the run of consecutive victories. In their last six games they have beaten Bayern Munich, Tottenham and Chelsea. They certainly are the best team in the world when they are in mood as mentioned by Conceicao in his pre-match conference. Salah, Mane and Firmino seems to have struck the form at the very right moment.
Vincent Aboubaker will be the only player missing for Porto. All the other players are available including Pepe and Herrera who served their one game match ban in the first leg.
Dejan Lovren and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be unavailable due to injury. Andy Robertson is back from suspension and Henderson is fit enough for the game after his minor issue against Chelsea. Joe Gomez has also travelled with the squad and might get some minutes under his belt.
Casillas; Militao, Pepe, Felipe, Telles; Otavio, Pereira, Herrera, Corona; Marega, Soares.
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Keita; Salah, Firmino, Mane.
Estádio do Dragão, Porto
Liverpool will find the trip away at Porto more tough than the last time out. Porto will surely deploy an attacking formation and look to get that first goal as soon as possible.
Soares will be a threat for Liverpool defence. But, we expect Liverpool to deal with that. Liverpool are favourites to advance and we expect the same.
Mane will surely be a threat for Porto’s defence. We are expecting a comfortable victory for Liverpool but they might not keep a clean sheet.
