Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes title rivals Liverpool are one of the strongest teams he has ever faced.
Guardiola’s Manchester City are two points behind Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool but have a game in hand, Liverpool leapfrogged Man City for the top spot on Sunday after beating Tottenham 2-1 at home. Manchester City will be playing relegation-threatened Cardiff City at home on Wednesday to reclaim their top spot.
In his pre-match press conference Pep Guardiola made his feeling known regarding their Premier League title challengers.
“They are one of the strongest teams I have faced,” he told Sky Sports.
“They had some problems with their positional play before, but that has improved a lot too. Liverpool has everything. That’s why it’s so close.”
Guardiola’s has managed two great clubs Barcelona and Bayern Munich. While managing those two giant clubs he faced many great teams like Real Madrid, Dortmund and some other great teams in the Champions League. Showering praise on Klopp’s man underlines the progress Liverpool has made under their German boss.
