We have reached the final showdown in the ODI series between India and Australia. The last match of the 5 match series is to be held in Delhi on 13th March. It is expected to be a rollercoaster ride given the circumstances and rivalry between the two teams.
When this series began in Hyderabad on 2nd March and looking at the way India defeated Australia, nobody expected that Australia will make a comeback in this series. Australia has shown great temperament in the last two games and played some astonishing cricket to equalize the series in the last encounter between two teams making it 2-2 with one match remaining .
In the last match held on 10th March in Mohali, India put a mammoth total of 358 of 9 in front of Australia which is expected to be a stony ride for them but they get along it quite easily in fact they chased down the total in 47.5 overs with 13 balls remaining. Ashton Turner who became the Aussies armour against India and made 84 runs of 43 balls with some sensational and amazing shot play. The Perth scorcher helped Australia to set a record as it is the highest total chased against India on Indian soil.
India will now look forward to closing this year’s last ODI series before World Cup with a win. Shikhar Dhawan is looking in good touch, as well as, Ro- Hitman Sharma who was losing his charm now have tended to hold it. If India needed to win the last match their openers will have to make a steady, the biggest problem for India which has remained the same for quite some time, its middle order who looks like a pack of cards waiting for the wind. They need to make their foundations stronger whether it is KL Rahul or Kedar Jadhav or MS Dhoni they all have struggled against Aussie attack.
