Bundesliga Review: Bayern back on top

After crushing Wolfsburg by a score of 6-0 Bayern Munich are at the top of the Bundesliga for the first time since September.

The Bavarian’s have moved past Borussia Dortmund on goal difference, who beat Stuttgart 3-1.

It is a statement of intent from Bayern ahead of their last 16 tie against Liverpool on Wednesday.

In contrast Dortmund needed two late goals to see off Stuttgart. Having already been knocked out of the Champions League by Tottenham and seeing their hold on the Bundesliga title slip in a matter of days is a concern for the Dortmund supporters.

While, Third-placed RB Leipzig were held to a goalless draw by Augsburg. and stay 11 points behind the top two. Borussia Mönchengladbach won their game against Mainz and stay on fourth position tied on points with RBL with 46. RBL with a better goal difference.

In other games Schalke lost 4-2 away to Werder Bremen, Schalke stay at 14th place while Werder Bremen rise up to 9th position in the league. Leverkusen beat Hannover 3-2 away, win helps Leverkusen go above Frankfurt with 42 points at 5th, Frankfurt have a game in hand at 6th with 40 points.

Next Matchday?

Next weekend Dortmund travel to Hertha while Bayern host Mainz. RBL travel to Schalke and 4th placed Borussia Mönchengladbach host Freiburg.
