There’s hardly a doubt of Pep Guardiola’s ability as a manager, someone who is regarded as one of the best managers ever. He has proved himself in three different European Leagues in Spain, Germany and England. Last season his Manchester City manage to do what no Premier League before could reach 100 points in a season. Although, the reports have emerged in European media that Spaniard could be on his way out from England in the summer. Guardiola has been linked with a move to Italian giants Juventus.
Guardiola had put pen to paper to a contract extension at Manchester City last summer, the deal that will keep at the club till the summer of 2021. Moreover, Pep Guardiola is highly respected and loved by the fans of Manchester City. He has built a team to win trophies after spending millions of pound in the transfer market since his arrival making big-name signings like Jesus, Ederson, Walker, Bernardo Silva.
Looking at the support Manchester City board provides their Catalan coach and considering Pep Guardiola who is not seen as someone who leaves midway through his contract, rumours of his verbal agreement with Juventus are still ripe in European media. Guardiola has although denied this rumours in his press conference, adding that he might stay beyond the length of his current contract at Manchester City.
The prime source of this shocking news has been the Italian journalist Luigi Guelpa, the same guy who first told the world that Cristiano Ronaldo will join Juventus last summer. Other media houses in Italian media are taking this news quite seriously as well especially considering that Allegri has been rumoured to leave come to the end of the season. Allegri is believed to be disappointed with the loss to Atletico in the first leg of Round of 16 in Champions League and believes this summer would be the right time to leave the club.
Guelpa was quoted as saying: “I’ve learned that Pep Guardiola already has reached a verbal agreement with Juventus for the next four years. It’s the same person who told me that Ronaldo was going to Juventus.”
The former Bayern Munich boss is one of the highly respected coaches in the world and every top club is linked with him. The move to Juventus, especially considering the current scenario with Ronaldo also present at the club, a rival to the guy Guardiola always calls the world’s best, Messi. If the switch happens it will be interesting to see how he will deal with the Messi-Ronaldo debate. It remains to be seen how the story develops in the next few months.
